For millions of Indians across the country, the record highs in diesel and petrol prices has been nothing short of a nightmare. Commuting has become a challenge, inflation is on the rise and in rural India, where agriculture is heavily dependent on diesel, a rise in diesel prices has had a sharp impact on transportation costs. And if we are to look at fuel prices, then where does this immediate concern fit into an overall analysis of just where we stand on our economic growth, because the jury is still out there. On the one hand, there are fairly positive indicators from the IMF that India's growth is on track, while there are other reports that points to stressed assets.
