To ensure everyone in the world has access to COVID vaccines, in April 2020, the WHO, Gavi Vaccine Alliance and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) had launched COVAX. However, due to a delay in vaccine supplies, COVAX is unable to deliver vaccines to all participating economies as per the target.
