She gave up a corporate job to go back to her roots and become the sarpanch of her village Soda, situated 150 kms from Jaipur. But this was not easy for this LSR graduate. Working inside the government system is tough, says Chavi Rajawat, who has changed the way how Soda village looks now. The village pond which people dug under her leadership offers water all year around, the roads in the village have been built, women's self-help groups provide employment, NGOs and outside agencies are stepping in to fund Soda village, and there is transparency - all accounts, books and ledgers of Panchayat works are open for inspection by people 24x7.
