In his only TV interview, award-winning Tamil author Perumul Murugan, who famously announced his literary obituary on Facebook, says that he now struggles to battle the censor's voice firmly embedded inside him after he was hounded by right-wing groups for his book One Part Woman. Earlier, the Madras High Court had dismissed a petition seeking a ban on his book, saying, "Let the author be resurrected to what he is best at. Write." Speaking to NDTV, Mr Murugan said he has slowly begun to feel alive again. But asked whether he writes freely or in fear he said, "My voice and the censor's voice both sit inside me, I am struggling to see which voice stays or whether a new authentic voice emerges."
