Will seek CBI probe into Jharkhand poll: Poll panel chief to NDTV

After cancelling the Rajya Sabha polls in Jharkhand recently amidst allegations of "horse-trading" and use of money power, the Election Commission has decided to seek a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged irregularities. Speaking to NDTV, Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi said that he will write to the Home Ministry asking for the probe. He also said that he will call for an all-party meet to discuss the issue, warning that the panel will not hesitate in cancelling the elections if another incident of irregularity surfaced.
