Army not needed against Naxals: Kapoor

Prime Minister Mammohan Singh may have described the naxalite problem as India's biggest internal security threat but the Army feels that well-trained central forces and state police should be adequate to tackle this problem instead of involving the army. In his first television interview, Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor told NDTV that the army is already training police forces and also advising the home ministry on the issue.
