Shimla has recorded the heaviest snowfall in a single day since 1990. In the last 24 hours the hill resort has received 73 cm of snow. Earlier in 2002, 54 cm of snow was recorded in the town, it has snowed the maximum on Jakhu Peak with 2.5 ft of snowfall.
