A new study by a Bengaluru heart institute, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, has reiterated the impact that poor air quality makes on heart health. Urban air pollution is seen as directly linked to rates of heart attacks, with drivers being the profession which is the worst hit according to the study. And younger people are being affected. Among those under 40, in addition to the conventional risk factors like obesity, smoking, and stress - air pollution is now considered a factor in the rising number of heart attacks.
