Plastic is toxic to humans and animals and takes thousands of years to decompose. Toxins from the plastics have entered the food chain, threatening human health. Contamination of water bodies like lakes, rivers, oceans and groundwater is a serious threat to the environment. Plastic bag litter has become an environmental nuisance, which if not treated effectively can be quite devastating. Through this episode, we highlight the individuals who are working on innovative ways to reduce and reuse plastic waste.
