With NDTV-Dettol Banega Swachh India Campaign embarking on its 5th season, we focus on how critical the link between access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene and diseases is. The Dettol Hygiene Curriculum, too, focuses on hygiene in schools, homes, illness, neighbourhood and personal hygiene through a 3 year module and is currently prevalent in 6 states. In Varanasi, the impact is seen in the 600 schools where the curriculum is adopted. It shows a fall in Diarrhea cases, improvement in attendance in schools and healthier children. On the other hand, NDTV also visit a school in the national capital to see how the children are working as agents of change by spreading awareness in their communities.
