Aparna Bankar has taken up the issue of propagating menstrual hygiene in her village by setting up a sanitary napkins manufacturing unit in her village - Brahmani, Maharashtra. Using the might of the internet to do this, her journey has been challenging. And this has only been possible because of Internet Saathi- a Google and Tata Trust initiative that aims to bridge the massive online gender gap in rural India. Women in villages are taught to use the internet under this initiative and are encouraged to teach other women around them about the benefits of the internet.
