Cyclone Ditwah: Authorities Across Tamil Nadu Brace For Strong Winds And Heavy Rainfall
Strong winds lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu on Friday, as Cyclone Ditwah which is likely to bring heavy rainfall in the state, intensified over the southwest Bay of Bengal and the Sri Lankan coast. With the storm moving towards Puducherry, north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh, dangerous sea conditions are expected to persist over the next few days. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued red alerts for the Cauvery Delta districts -- Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai.
