ArcelorMittal's India plans are highly dependent on the availability of coal mines but so far that has only led to controversies. The controversy over allocation of Chiria mine at Jharkhand for captive use of iron ore is far from over and now there is another one brewing. Arcelor Mittal wants coal to fire its 1500 megawatt captive power plant needed for the proposed 12 million tonne steel mill in Jharkhand.
