The Economic Survey 2017 shows how the bad debts are rising in public sector banks. Defending the public sector banks, Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian says that 'crony capitalism' is the 'standard view of public banks' and that 'one has to be very careful to look at it as a morality play'.
