Protein inflation to remain high: Crisil

Persistently high food inflation in India is partly due to the rise in demand for protein rich items. A CRISIL study finds that the surge in demand for protein items has come in more from rural areas as affordability rises. The study also indicates that until supply shortfall in key protein items is addressed, protein led inflation may remain a problem in India. DK Joshi, Principal Economist at CRISIL speaks to NDTV about the same.
