Ministry may bar foreign shipping firms from coastal trade

In an attempt to help Indian shipping companies deal with the dwindling trade, the shipping ministry is getting ready to launch a renewed policy in a month's time that gives preference to local shipping companies to carry domestic cargo on coastal waters.
