The BSE benchmark index Sensex added eight points to end at 31,103 after giving up most of the day's gains while the broader Nifty settled 10 points lower at 9,607. Metals weighed on the broader markets with Tata Motors DVR, HCL Tech, Vedanta and Wipro among the top Nifty losers.
