The cabinet has given the nod to 49 per cent FDI in the insurance sector. Subrat Mohanty, Executive VP, HDFC Life expects this to be positive for the industry as it will help draw in foreign capital. The management hopes that the increase in FDI along with other measures proposed by the govt will help revive the sector which has been struggling for the past 2 years.
