"When it comes to helping rural economy, we will never compromise on expenditure. We had a choice to cut expenditure in the current year or in the next year, but we decided to relax the fiscal deficit also by margin of 0.3 per cent only. In our next budget also, we will try pumping in more activities and money in rural areas", said Hasmukh Adhia, Finance Secretary of India to NDTV on Budget 2018.
