At the launch of India's first ever autonomous tractor, Chairman and MD of Escorts, Nikhil Nanda tells NDTV, that technology can transform the way in which the Indian farmer works. It can boost agriculture production as well as benefit the end consumer. He stresses on how it is not only important to "Make in India" but also to make people "capable" in India. Indian agriculture and farming practices require extensive mechanisation and precision and for that Escorts has partnered with Microsoft, Reliance Jio, Trimble, Samvardhana Motherson Group, WABCO, BOSCH and AVL. When asked if the partnerships and technology involved will impact the pricing, the Escorts Chairman stated the autonomous machinery will be priced competitively.
