Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has joined the 100-million passenger club, placing it among the six busiest airports in the world.

Delhi Airport, operated by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), now has the capacity to handle 109 million passengers annually.

According to data from the Official Airline Guide and airport operators, only six airports worldwide can manage more than 100 million passengers each year.

This growth was achieved in May 2023 after full operationalisation of Terminal 1. Delhi Airport ended 2024 with expanded passenger capacity.

The other top airports include Atlanta (ATL), Dubai (DXB), Tokyo Haneda (HND), London Heathrow (LHR), and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW).

Besides Tokyo Haneda, Delhi Airport is the only Asian airport in this group, underlining India's rise as a major aviation market.
