Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas

After negative bids for imported re-gasified liquefied natural gas for stranded gas-based power projects, concessionaires may decide to reduce these concessions going forward, says India Ratings.

GMR Energy said on Friday that its two gas-based plants will get government subsidy on use of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) for four months from June to September.

State Power Minister Milind Naik told the legislative assembly yesterday that the company, which has a power generating plant at Sancoale industrial estate, has offered power supply at Rs 8.58 per unit instead of the existing average rate of Rs 13.53 per unit.

The Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) would take steps to establish a Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) terminal in the Krishna-Godavari basin in Andhra Pradesh.
