A 23-year-old Sikh man was refused entry in a restaurant here for wearing a turban when he went there to meet friends after midnight, leaving him "hurt and embarrassed," according to a media report.

Police in New York say hundreds of cars have gotten stuck on the Long Island Expressway during a massive snowstorm and dozens of disabled motorists are still on the road.

Authorities say dozens of people are injured, at least four critically, in a pileup of some 50 vehicles in Southeast Texas. Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Deputy Rod Carroll says two cars caught fire but that nobody died in the chain-reaction collisions that started around 5.45 am on Thursday on Highway 73 west of Port Arthur.
