Rebounding from losses after ban on its Maggi noodles last year, FMCG major Nestle India on Friday reported net profit of Rs 230.84 crore for the second quarter ended June 30.

Nestle India Ltd said its quarterly profit dropped 60 per cent, as the company reels from the impact of a ban on its Maggi instant noodles in the country.

Nestle's sales declined over 19 per cent to Rs 1,957 crore as against Rs 2,432 crore year-on-year as the company had to reverse revenues of Rs 288 crore due to withdrawal of its popular Maggi noodles from the market.

Nestle India Ltd, battling a reputational crisis after a food scare, slipped into a loss in the June quarter, as sales plunged after its hugely popular Maggi noodles were pulled off shelves over safety concerns.

FMCG major Nestle India on Friday reported a 10.33 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 271.38 crore for the second quarter ended June 30 due to robust sales growth across various business verticals.
