Indian Reserve Police Irp

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the Centre had decided to raise five Indian Reserve Police (IRP) battalions in which people from border areas of Jammu and Kashmir would be given 60 per cent reservation.

Two policemen were today shot dead by militants in Kupwara district of north Kashmir. According to police, constables Santosh Kumar and Azad Chand of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) were shot at by the militants from point blank range in Handwara town, 75 kms from the state capital Srinagar.
