Maruti Suzuki has recently introduced the new Ertiga Limited Edition model in India, available in VXI and VDI trims. Priced at, Rs. 7.79 lakh for the petrol version and Rs. 9.71 lakh for the diesel, the MPV comes with a few new cosmetic updates, alloy wheels, and new dual tone interior.

The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes in four different variants, in both the petrol and diesel models - Lxi/LDi, VXi/VDi, ZXi/ZDi, and ZXi+/ZDi+. The new Dzire also gets a host of design and cosmetic features.

The company also announced the addition of the Executive variant E+ in 1.4 Litre Diesel and SX+ Dual Tone trim in 1.6 litre petrol and 1.6 litre diesel portfolio.

Available in both options petrol and diesel, it will use Kappa 1.2 dual VTVT engine, with an engine capacity 1,197cc, peak power of 83bhp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 114Nm at 4,000 rpm. Spacious and with an array of added features, it is reasonably priced at Rs 4.3 lakh to Rs 6.5 lakh range (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday said it is difficult to charge a market price for luxury cars and a subsidised price for farmers and transport trucks at the same petrol pump.

The industry chamber said non-farm use of diesel should have minimum subsidy, and also pressed for the phasing out of subsidy on LPG for urban use. The chamber said the increase in price of petrol is steep and would not resolve the issue of ballooning fuel subsidy. However, the subsidy on kerosene should be retained, it said.
