The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Friday said it has arrested five persons in connection with an alleged Rs 56,000 crore bank loan fraud-linked money laundering case against erstwhile Bhushan Steel Ltd.

Insolvent producers including Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd. are attracting potential bidders as prices of the material soar and creditors embark on the first significant test of a bankruptcy law that's intended to encourage asset sales.

The Supreme Court, which is hearing petitions seeking cancellation of Reliance Industries' contract for exploration of oil and gas from Krishna-Godavari basin, on Wednesday wanted to know from the Centre about a probe into the alleged money laundering issue raised during the hearing.
