As the nation celebrated Raksha Bandhan, the festival of sister-brother love this year with full fervor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited little girls to tie rakhi on his wrist in Delhi. Other politicians like Delhi's deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia also invited children to tie him rakhi. The annual festival marks celebration of bond between a brother and sister. The bracelet made often out of thread signifies the duty of a brother to protect his sister. In a twist to the tradition this year, a parliamentarian asked women across the country to gift a helmet to their brother and urged them to encourage them to take road safety seriously. The trend caught up soon with many posting images of gifting the same to their brothers.
