German luxury car maker BMW has launched its iconic Mini in India, which also happens to be the 100th market for the car. -
The Mini will come in five variants—Cooper, Cooper S, Cooper Convertible, Cooper S Countryman and Cooper S Countryman High—and will be priced upwards of Rs 25 lakh, pitting it against the Volkswagen Beetle. -
The car, which was unveiled at the auto expo in January, will roll out from its showroom in Mumbai next month. -
Unlike the XI, X3 and 3 and 5 Series, which are assembled in India, the Mini will be imported as a completely built-up unit. -
The company has received bookings for around 100 units and plans to focus on establishing the Mini brand in India this year.
