Rajni Sekhri, currently a Joint Secretary at the Centre, was the Director, Primary Education in 2000 when she was ordered to alter the list of over 3000 candidates for teachers in government schools.<br /><br />
Unwilling to compromise, Sekhri locked the list in a steel cupboard and also sealed the keys.<br /><br />
She was shunted out in retaliation, but she did not compromise on the courage of her convictions.<br /><br />
Earlier this year, a Delhi court said Sekhri was the only person who had enough courage to stand up to political pressure.</p></div></div></div>
