A thief who broke into a house in Scotland promptly fell asleep on the job and woke up the next morning in handcuffs. That's not all: police officers say the man was found next to a half-eaten pie and "covered in Doritos." 

The intruder allegedly broke into a house in Scotland's North Lanarkshire region late on Monday night. 

"We all feel tired when we start a shift & a thief who started his shift at 2345 yesterday was no different," joked Monklands Police on Twitter. "He broke into a house on Corsewall St, decided on a pit stop, ate half a pie and fell asleep covered in Doritos."

"He woke up in cuffs," the cops added.

According to the Daily Record, it was the horrified homeowners who found the thief fast asleep after his midnight snack and immediately called the cops. BBC reports a police spokesperson as saying that the failed robber was a 46-year-old man.Click for more trending news
