The winner of The Next Big Online Business Idea Season 1 was Ahmedabad’s Vikram Patel. His dream project is named and his online idea was to have dedicated construction and building materials marketplace in India. He started with a vision to create efficiency in construction industry through technology-enabled marketplace services.


The first runners’ up of The Next Big Online Business Idea Season 1 was Pune’s Navrisham Kaur Grewal. Her idea was to have an online platform which seeks to empower the citizens of India to make that small ‘change’ that they have been thinking about but doing nothing about. Thus, she named her website


The second runners’ up of The Next Big Online Business Idea Season 1 was New Delhi’s Prakash Thakur. His idea was to create an online market place for plants which he named as It offers customers a space where they can see and buy variety of plants of their choice from the comfort of their homes.

For the first seven years he drifted and did a number of small businesses – from salary surveys to databases, to feasibility studies, to training. Finally in 1997 the company launched and transformed itself into an Internet company.It was the first Internet company to list on Indian stock exchanges. Today the company employs over 2100 people and has a market capitalization of over Rs. 3000 crs.

Prior to starting Naukri, Sanjeev had worked in Lintas and in consumer marketing at Glaxo SmithKline.

He won the “Ernst and Young – Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 2008 for Business Transformation. He also won the Dataquest Pathbreaker Award & the Teacher's Achievement Award for Business in the same year.

Sanjeev is the immediate past President of TiE Delhi-NCR and was a member of the Global Board of Trustees of TiE. Sanjeev is a member of the Board of Chintan - a not for profit organization that works with waste pickers in Delhi.
He studied Economics at St. Stephens College and did MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.

Rajan Anandan

Rajan Anandan is the Vice President and Managing Director of Google India, responsible for all Sales and Operations in India. He joined Google in February 2011. His career includes global leadership roles at Microsoft, Dell and McKinsey & Company.

Prior to Google, Rajan was Managing Director of Microsoft India, responsible for all aspects of Microsoft’s software, OEM and services business in India. Under his leadership, Microsoft India was recognized as the Number 1 subsidiary among the emerging markets worldwide (China, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa and India).

Before joining Microsoft, Rajan was the Vice President and Country General Manager of Dell in India where he grew the Dell business from $250 million to over $800 million and also held several leadership roles including being the Executive Assistant to Chairman Michael Dell. Before Dell, Rajan was a Partner with McKinsey & Company in Chicago. He holds an MSc from Stanford and a BSc from MIT. He lives in Delhi and is married to Radhika with a 6 year old daughter, Maya.

Saurabh Srivastava

He founded and chaired India's first and extremely successful early stage Venture Capital fund in the private sector, Infinity Ventures and also co founded the Indian Angel Network, India's first and largest business angel group with over 200 investor members comprising the who's who of successful Indian entrepreneurs and CEOs. He chaired the Indian Venture Capital Association for a decade and is Chairman Emeritus of TIE Delhi. TiE is the world's largest organisation devoted to entrepreneurship with 16,000 members in 54 chapters across 14 countries. Rajiv Sodhi

As the VP & MD of Go Daddy India, Rajiv’s core responsibilities include overall India strategy business development, operations and customer care centre management. With over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, Rajiv specializes in technology evangelism, product marketing and business alliance management.

Prior to Joining Go Daddy India, Rajiv was the Director of SMB and Cloud business at Microsoft India where he led the launch and adoption of Office 365 and Windows Azure in India.

Vikram Upadhyay

Vikram is a technocrat turned serial entrepreneur. A University of Tokyo Graduate , majored in Real Time Operating Systems.
