Dehradun: Here is a good news for the National Defence Academy (NDA) aspirants. The Uttarakhand government has decided to set up two centres to train youths to make them prepare for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) and National Defence Academy (NDA) exams. The government will set up one centre in Kumaon and another one in Garhwal regions to train youths aspiring to join the armed forces.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the official organisor of CDS exams, has recently notified the CDS - I 2018 exam which including SSC Women (Non-Technical) courses. The last date to fill application forms online is December 4, 2017 till 6:00 pm.

According to Uttrakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the two centres will be set up in school and college buildings where there is enough infrastructure.

The decision to set up these coaching centres for CDS and NDA exams was taken at a meeting between the chief minister and Commandant of the Indian Army's Bangalore selection centre Major General VPS Bhakuni here today, reported Press Trust of India.

Giving a presentation at the meeting, Maj. Gen. Bhakuni noted that the success rate at National Defence Academy (NDA) and Combined Defence Services (CDS) exams is lower than civil services examination due to rigorous comprehensive personality tests.

Such training centres are needed to tailor the skills of armed forces aspirants accordingly. They will help prepare the aspirants in clearing the comprehensive personality test, Maj. Gen. Bhakuni said.

UPSC has recently released the UPSC CDS (II) 2017 examination admit card for the candidates who have applied for the exam which will be conducted by the commission on November 19, 2017 for admission to various courses in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad and Officers' Training Academy, Chennai. 

Online application process for UPSC CDS II exam started on August 9, 2017 and ended on September 8, 2017.

UPSC conducts CDS and NDA exams twice in an year.
