Jaipur: The Rajasthan Assembly today witnessed an uproar over a property owned by the erstwhile royal family of Jaipur.

Replying to Independent MLA Hanuman Beniwal's question on properties owned by the erstwhile royal families in the state, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore said the government had, by an order dated September 26, 2012, formed the Khanna committee to look into the property disputes of the royal family of Jaipur, but it was yet to submit its report.

Mr Rathore told the House that the cases related to the property disputes were pending in various courts of the state, including the High Court, following which Speaker Kailash Meghwal asked him not to talk about matters that are sub-judice.

Mr Beniwal then raised the issue of a property owned by the erstwhile royal family of Jaipur which led to an uproar, during which even a senior BJP MLA was seen arguing with Mr Rathore, a minister in the saffron party-led government.

BJP MLA Diya Kumari, who belongs to the erstwhile royal family of Jaipur, was also present in the House.
