Kolkata:
A professor at the Visva-Bharati University in Shantiniketan in West Bengal has been accused of molesting a PhD student.
The incident allegedly took place on October 2, The student complained to the Vice Chancellor and left for her home in Manipur. The complaint was made later as the Vice Chancellor was out of town on October 2.
The accused professor, who teaches at the University's agriculture institute, has been removed from his post as Dean of Student Welfare.
No police complaint has been filed as yet.
Set up by Rabindra Nath Tagore, Visva-Bharati is one of the central universities in West Bengal.
