All six men accused of killing Pehlu Khan in 2017 have been acquitted by a court in Rajasthan. The judge found several contradictions in the evidence presented in court and the charges were cleared on the benefit of doubt.
In April 2017, Pehlu Khan was transporting cattle with six others after buying them at a cattle fair in Jaipur to Haryana when he was stopped on the highway and brutally beaten by a group of men who suspected him of carrying beef.

Video Of The Lynching Not "Admissible Evidence"
The video of the men thrashing Pehlu Khan, which had gone viral, was not admissible evidence because the man who made the video turned hostile as a witness and did not depose in court. Also, the video was not clear enough to identify the accused, as per the court
Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi On Pehlu Khan lynching case verdict
"In most lynchings, the accused were happy being filmed while they lynched a human being. They wanted to be famous for these awful acts. But are we to now believe that no one killed Pehlu Khan? What will this deliberately shoddy prosecution tell his family," Mr Owaisi tweeted.
The lawyer who defended the six accused in the case says "benefit of doubt" was given to clear the charges
The verdict was announced amid chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" outside the court in Alwar.
All six men accused in the case have acquitted.
