A 25-year-old woman working for Pakistan's Airport Security Force has been punished by her employers after a video of her lip-syncing an Indian song surfaced on social media.

The woman, wearing a cap with a Pakistani flag emblazoned on it, is seen dancing to a popular Punjabi song while lip-syncing. The song by Guru Randhawa is a big YouTube hit with millions of views and likes.

The short clip was circulated on social networking platforms and predictably, reached her bosses.

After an "investigation", the Airport Security Force (ASF) has held back her increments and perks for two years for violating the code of conduct, according to the Press Trust of India.

The woman was also warned of "strict action" if she was caught breaking rules again. In addition, a warning has gone to other employees, who have been told to steer clear of "any controversial activity" on social media.

The woman has worked for two years at the Sialkot airport.
