The poll of exit polls are predicting a comfortable win for the NDA with over 300 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. The BJP and its allies are likely to get 49 seats in Uttar Pradesh, a close second will be the Mayawati-Akhilesh Yadav's coalition, predict poll of exit polls. In West Bengal, BJP, which won just 2 seats in 2014 elections, has bumped up to double digits with 14 seats, according to exit poll predictions.

Maharashtra will see a comfortable BJP-Shiv Sena victory while 6 out of 7 seats in Delhi will go to BJP, poll of exit polls predict.

In Odisha, the exit polls predict a neck-to-neck competition between BJP and the ruling Biju Janata Dal.

The marathon Lok Sabha elections of 2019 concluded today after seven phases of voting. On May 23, when the votes are counted, the election results will determine the next government at the Centre.

The crucial national elections, the biggest democratic exercise on earth, will see the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party wrestle with a grand alliance of Congress and a large number of regional parties to form the 17th Lok Sabha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running for a second term and contesting from Varanasi. Congress President Rahul Gandhi is contesting from two seats, Wayanad in Kerala and his home turf Amethi.

Around 90 crore people were eligible to vote in the elections this year, an increase of around 9 crore compared to the last elections.

A million polling stations had been set up across the country for the mammoth election. The elections saw a 66.39 per cent overall turn out.

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11 saw a voter turnout of 69.43 per cent. Around 66 per cent turnout was recorded in both the second phase on April 18 and the third phase of polling on April 23. The overall voter turnout in the fourth phase of the national elections on April 29 stood at 64 per cent. The fifth phase of polling, held on May 6, saw 57.33 per cent turnout. The sixth phase of voting was held on May 12 and saw 63.3 per cent turnout. The last phase of elections, held today, recorded and estimated 63.28 per cent turn out.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Uttarakhand's Kedarnath shrine was a violation of the poll code, and asked the Election Commission to ensure that "continuous telecast of his private activities" is stopped with immediate effect.

In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner, he also accused PM Modi of "supporting and promoting" illegal betting through his remarks at a press conference on Friday. The event in question was the Prime Minister's first in five years.

Mayawati will meet Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi tomorrow in what is seen as a significant outreach after the Bahujan Samaj Party chief carried out an acrimonious campaign that was unsparing of the Congress.

Sonia Gandhi, who remains chairperson of the UPA after handing charge of the Congress to son Rahul Gandhi in 2017, has taken the lead in opposition consolidation efforts to prep for the possibility of a less than decisive verdict on May 23, the day the votes cast in the staggered national election are counted.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today met Rahul Gandhi for the second time as he continued his meetings with opposition leaders including Uttar Pradesh rivals-turned-alliance partners Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav in an apparent attempt to knit a non-BJP formation at the Centre. Mr Naidu also met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a 2-day visit to Uttarakhand to pray at the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines. Many photographs surfaced of the Prime Minister meditating, taking stock of developmental projects in the state.
