With seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 coming near, the Congress and BJP geared up with their campaigns. Voting is set to take place in eight states and Union Territories in the 59 constituencies on 19 May. All parliamentary constituencies in Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab will vote on the same day. In Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal some Lok Sabha constituencies will vote.

BJP president Amit Shah visited Jharkhand and Bihar to campaign for his party. Mr Shah addressed rallies in Littipara of Jharkhand's Pakur ditrict, Mohania and Arrah of Bihar.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi held public meetings in Madhya Pradesh's Shujalpur, Amjhera and Khargone district.

More than 60,000 security personnel deployed for elections in Delhi

More than 60,000 security personnel, including Home Guards and paramilitary forces jawans, have been deployed across New Delhi a day before the Lok Sabha elections, reported news agency PTI.

Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik told PTI that elaborate arrangements, according to the instructions of the Election Commission, are in place to ensure no anti-social element causes any trouble.

Voting will begin at 7 am on May 12 and scheduled to go on till 6 pm. Security personnel have been deployed at polling booths and special reserve parties and policemen are patrolling vulnerable areas, the police said.
