Today is day 20 and the final day of the Monsoon session of Parliament

Today is the last day of the Monsoon session of Parliament. The ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains (Amendment) bill, 2017 is to be considered for passing, and any item of government business entered in the revised list of business for yesterday and not concluded will also be discussed.

Yesterday, outgoing Vice President Hamid Ansari bid farewell to the Rajya Sabha, which he chaired for 10 years. You can find out the details of day 19 here.

M Venkaiah Naidu, India's new Vice President and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha gave his welcome address. He spoke about how all parties must debate and discuss, but must ultimately work toward the same goal.

Quoting former president Pranab Mukherjee, he said "The House is for debate and discussion. Forget disruption."
