has arrived in Hyderabad for the annual
Global Entrepreneurship Summit co-hosted by India and the US. For the first time, the GES is being held in South Asia. The three-day summit, from November 28-30, is being held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and Hyderabad International Trade Expositions (Hitex).
Ms Trump is leading a delegation of senior White House officials as well as American entrepreneurs. The theme of this year's summit is 'Women First, Prosperity for All' and will include 1,200 young entrepreneurs, and most of them are women.
While Ms Trump has been to India before, this will be her first visit as a senior White House adviser. She was invited for the summit earlier this year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his state visit to the US.

Sushma Swaraj on the Global Entrepreneurship Summit
In her speech at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that India appreciated the efforts of the US to promote entrepreneurship globally. She said she had no doubts that on PM Modi's and President Trump's leadership, entrepreneurship would reach new heights.
Ms Swaraj also said the summit would not have been possible without NITI Aayog.

"Indian women continue to lead in different walks of life," PM Modi said at GES 2017. He mentioned that the government scheme, Startup India, "is a comprehensive action plan to provide support to startups. More than 70 million loans have been transferred to women entrepreneurs."
"The power to think differently and ahead of times for the betterment of mankind is what sets entrepreneurs apart. I see that power in India's young generation today. I see 800 million potential entrepreneurs who can make our world a better place," PM Modi said while addressing the global summit. 
"The summit is being held for the first time in South Asia. It brings together, leading investors, entrepreneurs, academicians, think tanks and other stake holders to propel the global entrepreneurship ecosystem," PM Modi said while addressing the GES 2017.

The theme, 'Women First, Prosperity For All' makes this edition of GES stand out. In Indian mythology, women are an incarnation of Shakti- the Goddess of power. We believe women empowerment is vital to our development: PM Modi at GES 2017.
PM Modi is now addressing the summit. He too is talking about contribution of women to the society in India and the world.
Ivanka Trump, a woman entrepreneur herself, said she was excited to see so many women entrepreneurs under one roof. "I am proud to see that for the first time a majority of 1500 women entrepreneurs are participating in such an event."
"Only when women are empowered to thrive; will our families, our economies, and our societies reach their fullest potential," Ms Trump asserted.
"After my father's election, I saw the opportunity to leave my businesses to serve my country. Our policies aimed at helping women and removing barriers for them."

Many woman become entrepreneurs out of necessity. Fueling the growth of women-led-business is not only good for the society but also the economy."
"We are committed to supporting women and men both inside and outside of their homes. Women are more likely than men to hire other women. Here in India, I want to applaud PM Modi for his firm belief that the progress of a community is incomplete without empowering women."
"For the first time ever, women make up 50 percent of the people selected for this summit," Ms Trump said. In the last three decades women has made a major progress in establishing businesses, she highlighted, however, while talking about the challenges, "Women entrepreneurs got less than 3 percent funding to establish businesses in 2016."
Talking about the heritage of the city that is hosting her, Ivanka Trump said, "In the city of treasure (Hyderabad), the greatest pearl is you. It is incredible to be in the ancient country brimming with technology."
Referring to her father, US President Donald Trump, and India-US ties, she asserted, "As President trump said earlier, India has a true friend in the White House."
"People of India inspire us all," said Ivanka Trump as she addressed the GES 2017.
Ms Trump also thanked PM Modi saying, "Thank you PM Modi for joining us today for making India a symbol of democracy and beacon of hope for India."
"Transformational change proved by you- from selling tea in your childhood to becoming PM of India," she said.
"India has ably lifted over 130 million people out of poverty through entrepreneurship under the leadership of PM."
Adressing the summit, Ivanka Trump says she is happy to be in Hyderabad, which is emerging as the innovation hub of India.
Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao welcomed Ivanka Trump and other participants at the global summit. "Taking major strides to further Ease of Doing Business, Telangana is proud to host the world's biggest Entrep Summit," he said.
The summit began on a colourful note and Ivanka Trump was seen enjoying cultural events at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit's inaugural ceremony.
A series of cultural events are being organised at the HICC to welcome the entrepreneurial talent at the GE summit.

The Hyderabad Police has issued some traffic advisory, stating that traffic will be diverted on the following places/routes today from 1700 Hrs to 2300 Hrs:- Traffic coming from I S Sadan, DMRL towards Chandrayan Gutta will be diverted at Midhani Junction towards Balapur to reach their destinations.
- Traffic Coming from Srisailam Highway (Peelidargha and Barkas) will be diverted at Keshavgiri Post office toward Balapur to reach their Destinations.
- Traffic coming from Himmath Pura towards Falaknuma will be diverted at Nagulchintha T Junction towards Laldharwaza to reach their Destinations.
- Traffic coming form kalapathar/ Jahanuma towards shamshirgunj T Junction will not be allowed on the main road of Shamshirgunj it will be diverted towards Gowshala Jhanuma.

Ivanka Trump arrives in India
Ivanka Trump arrives in Hyderabad. She is leading the US delegation to the eighth edition of Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017.
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit will be attended by entrepreneurs from across the world and India. The Indian delegation, led by PM Narendra Modi, includes banker Chanda Kochhar, fashion designer Anita Dongre, MakeMyTrip founder Deep Kalra, Vice-President of Google India Rajan Anandan, among others.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally invited Ivanka Trump to participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit when he travelled to the US in June.
The India visit has been clouded by US media reports questioning Ivanka Trump's clothing line and its supply chain as well as a snub by Rex Tillerson, the US secretary of state, who has reportedly refused to send senior staff with her to India.
The India trip will help elevate Ivanka Trump as one of the current US administration's biggest stars. Her advocacy for women on an international stage has become a key element of her political profile and personal image.
During her visit, Ivanka Trump is expected to visit the old city as well as the Charminar, the iconic symbol of Hyderabad. She is also likely to shop at Laad Bazaar or Choodi Bazaar, which is famous for its bangles, semi-precious stones, pearls, jewellery and silverware.
Accompanied by several top administration officials, a large number of Indian-Americans are part of Ivanka Trump's delegation, which totals 350 from 38 states.
This is the first time that the Global Entrepreneurship Summit will be held in South Asia. The summit strives to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem supporters from around the world.
More than 10,000 security personnel including anti-terrorist forces and dog squads will be deployed, and Ivanka Trump will travel around Hyderabad in her own special bullet-proof vehicle with US Secret Service taking care of close security.
2,500 security personnel have been deployed across the city and everything is in place, says Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sandeep Sandilya.
