A Week After Gurdaspur Attack, 31 Police Officers Transferred in Punjab

In a major administrative reshuffle following the July 27 terror attack in Gurdaspur, the Punjab government today transferred 31 police officers who have been in key posts.  

The transferred IPS officers included Inspector General of Police (Border Range), Amritsar, Ishwar Chander, who has been shifted to Bathinda Zone, an official release said. He has been replaced by Lok Nath Agra, Inspector General, Counter-Intelligence.

Gurdaspur district is under the jurisdiction of IG (Border Range) Amritsar.

IPS officer Parmod Ban has been posted as IG, Counter Intelligence and Special Protection Unit.

The Additional Director General of Police, law and order, Dinkar Gupta has been replaced by Rohit Chaudhary.

Special Protection Unit (SWAT) Gaurav Yadav has been replaced by Pramod Ban.

Similarly Senior Superintendents of Police of border districts -- Pathankot, Batala and Hoshiyarpur - have also been replaced.
