Two women have been arrested from Indore and three others detained from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly honey-trapping and blackmailing some people, a police official said on Thursday.
The two arrests were made on Wednesday following a complaint filed by a senior engineer of the Indore Municipal Corporation about some women blackmailing and honey-trapping people, senior police official from Indore (East), Mohammad Yusuf Qureshi told PTI.
Senior police officer in Bhopal, Amit Kumar, said that arrests were made in connection with the honey trapping case. "We have detained three women and one man. A case has been registered against them in Indore. We were asked to keep them in our custody," he said.
"These women, who were arrested in Bhopal have been taken for questioning to Indore. Police have also picked up a driver working for the two arrested women in Indore. All of them are being questioned," Mr Qureshi said.
Refusing to divulge any further details of the case, Mr Qureshi said an investigation was underway.
