The most productive way to maintain skin health during the sultry summer months is drinking lots and lots of water. It will keep your skin hydrated and will also help in retaining its glow.

1. Stay hydrated: Staying hydrated can help in countering the heat during summer months. It will keep you and will maintain your skin health. Dehydrated skin is likely to become tight, dry and flaky. It tends to crack and wrinkle easily when it is not properly hydrated. So drink eight to 10 glasses of water, or more if you are exercising are involving being outdoors for long periods of time.
2. Never forget your sunscreen: Using sunscreen is the single most important tip for your daily skincare routine. It is important to protect the skin from the very harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. No matter if its sunny outside or not, sunscreen is a must for you. Even if you are stepping out in evening or at night, make sure you apply at least 2 tbsp of sunscreen daily.
3. Use less make-up: If you are someone who sweats more than usual, or if your day-to-day routine involves physical work and sweating is inevitable, then use as less make-up as possible. Creamy or too heavy skincare products must ideally be avoided during summer time. You can even go low on your moisturisers during summer time.

7. Eat foods rich in lycopene: Lycopene is known to be a powerful antioxidant that offers sun protection. Eating lycopene-rich foods during summer months can thus be helpful. Eat more of tomatoes, watermelon and pink guava to get your lycopene for natural protection from sun damage.
