Ghaziabad: Wife of former education officer found murdered at home

Ghaziabad: A 58-year-old woman, wife of a retired education officer, was found murdered at her residence in Sahibabad area in Ghaziabad on Sunday, police said.

Lokesh Tyagi, wife of Assistant Basic Education Officer (retd) K P Tyagi, was found lying in a pool of blood at their residence in Satyam Enclave of Sahibabad area, Sahibabad police station SHO, Upender Yadav said.

The murder came to light when Mr Tyagi, who had gone to his village last night, returned home this afternoon around 3.30 pm, the officer said.

"When K P Tyagi returned home, he found the outermost door locked from outside. As he opened the door, he found Lokesh lying in pool of blood in the drawing room," he said.

Some neighbours had seen Ms Tyagi outside her house around 11 am, SHO Yadav said.

A blood-stained broken knife, a bread-roller and a tea-cup were recovered from the spot, but no valuables were reported to be missing, he said, hinting that the killer might have been known to Ms Tyagi.

The Tyagi's son Keshundra and his wife Chinu, had also gone to Haryana where her exams were to be held, the officer said.

The case is being investigated from all angles, he said, adding that Ms Tyangi's body was sent for post mortem
