Why not gift yourself a healthy festive season and celebrate a guilt-free Diwali? All you need to do is to follow these tips to have an enjoyable Diwali.

Tips For Healthy Eating During Diwali:

1. Check the portions

Small portions fit in small plates; therefore, it is important to keep a check on the quantity of food you consume along with the daily calorie intake. Always try to avoid a second helping of your favourites.

2. Increase your water intake

Stay hydrated with juices, coconut water, and low calorie smoothies. Keep water infused lime, mint, berries, cucumber or any other fruit of your choice and sip through the day. This will help keep your metabolism going and replenish your system.

3. Smart binging

We all love to binge on sweets during the festivities. All you need to do is to take small bites of these sweets and relish the taste instead of just gulping them down. Slow eating will help reduce your urge to pick another piece. Also, wherever you go, try picking up homemade sweets so that you know there is no processed food that you are eating.

4. Gift healthy

Move over gifting the same old box of heavy mithai and gift a fancy box of healthy nuts to your friends and family. Everybody during this period is overindulging in sweets; so it is always good to see a change.

5. Walk, whenever you can

Take a stroll wherever you wish to go; be it shopping or visiting friends and family or take the stairs wherever you can. This way you will be able to lose some calories.

So go ahead and have a guilt-free Diwali with absolutely no regrets, but remember to stay nourished and healthy!

Happy Diwali 2020!
