A recent report published by Clinic Compare, UK reveals a list of unhealthiest countries in the world. The study draws from the official WHO data to report Czech Republic as the unhealthiest country in the world followed by Russia, Slovenia, Belarus, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Luxembourg and Lithuania. Afghanistan was reported as the least unhealthy country in the world followed by Guinea, Niger, Nepal, Congo, Eritrea, Malawi, Somalia, Mozambique and Ethiopia.

Clinic Compare sourced data from the World health Organisation, the CIA World Factbook and the World Lung Association to analyze each country on three basic parameters - per person alcohol consumption in a year; per person tobacco consumption in a year; obesity prevalence. Czech Republic emerged as the unhealthiest of all countries with the highest alcohol consumption - 13.7 litres of pure alcohol consumed by a single person in a year.

While Eastern Europe was marked as the unhealthiest region in the world, the Oceania region was reported as the fattest in the world. The United States of America was also listed among some of the top unhealthiest countries owing to it staggering ratio of obese population - 35% of the total population; second highest in the world. Samoa ranked first for obesity with close to 41.6% of the nation's population falling under the bracket. Afghanistan, on the other hand, was reported to have the second lower rate of obesity - only 2.7% of people with obesity. Most African countries fared well. India was shaded in green colour which denoted 'the least unhealthy' category on the map.
