New Delhi: The Bachchans are back from their Maldives vacation just in time for Diwali but this year, things are looking slightly different. Bollywood's royal family will reportedly not celebrate the festival in their usual grandeur this year. A report in Pinkvilla states that the Bachchan family will keep it a family-only affair on Diwali this year in remembrance of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishna Raj Rai, who died in March. The Bachchans are to tone down the festivities for year, reported Pinkvilla. "Hence, the Bachchans will not be celebrating Diwali this year and will instead stay back at home for a quiet affair with family," stated the report.

Aishwarya, Abhishek, Shweta, Navya, Aaradhya and Jaya Bachchan were in the Maldives to celebrate Big B's 75th birthday. Big B wanted his birthday celebrations to be a complete family-only affair, so much so that: "Many threaten and plan the 75th celebration of my birth. May it be known that there shall be no such event, allowed or even acknowledged."

Meanwhile, the Bachchans' Diwali party is synonymous with a red-letter day on the calendar. It is one of the grandest Diwali celebrations Mumbai witnesses each year with the industry A-listers pouring in. In the recent past, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, Ranbir Kapoor and family have been spotted on the Bachchans' Diwali guest list. Sara Ali Khan, who is the Internet's favourite star kid and will soon be seen in her first Bollywood movie, made her debut appearance at the Bachchan's Diwali party last year.

Bollywood celebrities begun early Diwali celebrations with large-scale parties hosted by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, Arpita Khan, Ramesh Taurani, Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Shweta and Navya, who are part of the Nanda family now, headlined the bash hosted by the designer duo looking like this.
