New Delhi: Irrfan Khan and Parvathy's new rom-com Qarib Qarib Singlle may have had a slow start but is picking up steam at the box office. On Friday, the film opened to make some Rs 1.7 crore and on Saturday, almost doubled its box office score with ticket sales worth Rs 2.35 crore, reported Box Office India. "Qarib Qarib Singlle showed big growth on Saturday as collections were up 90% and this is a pretty good result for Saturday and puts the film in with a chance to sustain on the weekdays," added the report. Qarib Qarib Singlle is reportedly fetching good numbers from theatres across Mumbai and the National Capital region. The film's current box office score is Rs 4.95 crore and counting.

Previously, as Qarib Qarib Singlle made its entry to the weekend, trade analyst Taran Adarsh made a prediction saying: "Qarib Qarib Singlle is expected to witness growth over the weekend."

In his review for NDTV, Saibal Chatterjee, whose assigned three stars to the movie, writes: "Buoyed by two contrasting but highly effective lead performances from Irrfan and Parvathy, the film, despite the obvious pacing issues, weaves a free-wheeling tale around a trip that two lonely hearts undertake after they meet via a dating site and begin a tentative relationship over cups of latte in a Mumbai cafe. Temperamentally, they are polar opposites and the drama, whatever little there is of it, is sparked by the big and small contrasts that inform their approaches to life and love."

On Friday, Qarib Qarib Singlle clashed with Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda's Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana - a film which has managed to rake in Rs 2 crore so far, stated Box Office India.
