New Delhi: Popular television shows Hum Paanch and Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai are all set to be adapted for British and Anglo-Spanish audience respectively by a Vancouver based entertainment company, reports news agency IANS. Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is one of television's top viewed comedy series for almost two years now. Hum Paanch, which aired in the Nineties, was a family drama about the lives of five sisters, who were poles apart from each other. Hum Paanch's British version will be titled Lala's Ladiez while the Anglo-Spanish series adapted from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain will probably be titled Love Thy Neighbour, reports IANS. The shows will be produced by ZEE Studios International a subsidy of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited.

Hum Paanch featured Vidya Balan, Priya Tendulkar, Ashok Saraf, Shoma Anand and Rakhee Tandon. Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai stars Rohitash Gaud, Shubhangi Atre, Saumya Tandon and Aashif Sheikh in lead roles.

The IANS report also stated that the studio aims to create "global content and formats for international markets in local languages," which will be based on popular Indian shows. The initial focus will be to produce content for television and digital platforms and the studio plans to venture into film production at a later stage.

Several international shows have been adapted for Indian audience recently like Turkish show Fatmagul became Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka? Dutch television reality show Big Brother has been adapted by the British and US entertainment markets. In India, the show rechristened as Bigg Boss has completed 10 seasons while its Tamil And Telugu versions were launched this year.
